Business Operational Systems

Why Choose Russell IT?

Just to clarify, we're not going to try and convince you that you need a bespoke operational system. You know if you need one or not, and if you're here... you're probably looking for a company to develop one for you. Instead, we're going to try and show you why we feel we would be a great choice of development company.

We feel we'd be a great choice because we've sucessfully implemented many systems for clients in the past and now have a proven track record of successfully implemeting operational systems that have massively reduced the amount of man hours spent on unnecessary work. Because we strive for transparency, we've detailed our process below so you know what to expect.

Project Flow

Your Requirements

Your Requirements

Our first step is discussing your requirements with you so we have a good understand of what you are trying to achieve. Our goal is to understand your intended outcome so we can make suggestions if we feel there could be a more effficient way. Once we have a good understanding, we will explain your process to you, this allows you to correct us if we've misunderstood anything! If our understanding is correct, we will put together a detailed proposal, including timescales and costs so you know exactly what to expect.

Planning

Planning

Upon acceptance of our quote, we would start the planning stage. This involves us putting together a Secure Development Lifecycle Project Plan (SDL Project Plan) and setting up collaboration boards which are used to keep you in the loop throughout the project. We would submit the plan to you to confirm before development actually starts.

Development

Development

This is when the fun begins - for us at least! We now spend time working through our plans and developing your system bit by bit. We keep you updated throughout the development phase through our collaboration boards so you can see how things are going. We'll also agree certain points with you where we can demo the system and to show you the progress. At these stages, we welcome your feedback to continually steer the direction of development and ensure that you get a truly great end product.

Testing

Testing

We continually test your project throughout development and once we have your system to a point that we believe meets the requirements set out, we'll invite you to start performing your own testing on the system. We would work hand in hand with you during this stage so whenever you raise issues, we will action them straight away, rather than requiring you to collate them all before we start. We also offer you our Application Testing Document so you can set out the test criteria you would like tested and we will perform the tests for you and make changes where required.

Release!

Release!

Once testing has finished, we can start the release process. This is generally a pretty standard step involving us deploying to the platform of your choosing (or to our own server if you've chosen to host with us too). Once your system has been released, we will continue working with you to sort out any teething issues when you start using the system. This is an important part of our process as we don't ever want a client to have a system that isn't working as they envisioned at the start of the process.
